Blue Cenote

Located at the entrance to Bacalar (coming from Chetumal) and to the edge of the road. This cenote has a diameter of approximately 200 meters and a depth of 90 meters, you can enjoy its beautiful blue color.
It is characterized by being separated from the lagoon but at the same time part of it, due to the veins of water that connect them to both, it is the reason why it acquires the splendid blue color characteristic of the lagoon of the seven colors.
A magical place very attractive for national and international tourism, but mainly for people who like to practice diving and speleology.
The blue cenote is an unpredictable place for divers who visit Bacalar, it represents a real challenge due to its great depth and its special characteristics, that is why in order to dive you need a careful planning and for experienced people who like speleological observation.
It is an outstanding site for diving, because even without a spectacular visibility, it offers intricate labyrinths of interlaced and overlapping roots and trunks, hollows of various sizes and rock formations on its walls with vertical and negative inclinations, with a background that remains hidden from the distance (more than 90m deep); has caves that invite to be penetrated, provided that you have expert guides and adequate training.
It is a site that offers the mystical beauty of the great cenotes that our Bacalar lagoon has, its shape resembles a small lake, surrounded by jungle vegetation, as around its banks of the cenote we can see branches coming out of the subsoil, roots of trees, and mangroves that said cenote has. This gives a little more mystery and desire to dive into these deep waters to investigate a little more.
It has holes of various sizes and rock formations on its walls with inclinations between vertical and negative, this can be observed with a snorkel equipment and venture to discover new sensations, you can see these formations of rocks, branches and trunks on ledges of the subsoil with a depth of approximately 90 meters deep where it hides another large part of its mysticism between underground rivers that are connected to other cenotes inside the lagoon.
